Upgrade your system.
primary.cardiffschools.net
requires the latest software to be installed on your machine.
Your schools' machines are covered by SITS. If you are working from
home the following may also be useful.
On-line help
We are normally available via e-mail or even live
'on-line' to provide you with support. Don't be shy - this is a
learning process for us all. Follow this simple process to access the
live chat session available within cardiffschools.net.
To install the chat system click here
and follow these instructions.
Clicking here
produces the following screen.
Click the SAVE option
and decide where you want to save the file.
Remember the location and ensure the "Close this
dialog........" box is NOT ticked.
When the file is downloaded click the OPEN button.
Agree to the wonderful Terms and Conditions
of use
Accept the default settings (its easier)
and leave the default location alone
and accept the default values here too
and here too (how easy can this be?) in fact
agree all defaults and then also the following ...
Now enter your chosen user name and password
(check the box) - change the server to cardiffschools.net
Press OK
If the username has not already been taken
the following screen will appear. If the name has already been taken
go back two steps and select an new name.
Click OK
More forms - probably not - click No.
Click on Tools
> Contacts > Add Contact
Finally complete the contact form to
talk to the caretaker
When you press OK the system will attempt to
connect you to caretaker@cardiffschools.net
Your call will be answered if caretaker is
online at the time otherwise it will be deferred until later.
Other people may call you - in which case you
will see a subscription request - which you can accept or deny.
The small lamp changes from grey to orange
when your potential interlocutor is available.
